Since 1996, we grow organic vegetables and grains on 24 hectares. Our crops thrive in the sandy alluvial soils of the Rhine river. We are in one of the driest areas of Switzerland, which in combination with targeted irrigation provides perfect conditions for organic farming as the risk of fungal infection is very low.
We harvest up to 50 different vegetables every day throughout the season, most of these we sell directly through our online shop bionline.ch. To be able to do this, we sew and plant every 2 weeks, starting in February. For weed control, harvesting and processing, we use the latest technology. Nevertheless there is still a lot to be done by hand.
Since the beginning of 2013 we have a large green house. This means we can now plant and then harvest various vegetables earlier than normal, and also later into the autumn. In summer time we grow vegetables who like the heat, like tomatoes, cucumbers, egg plant and zucchini, in there.
